The body performs (whether it is in sporting endeavours or everyday activities), in accordance with the combined strength, balance, integrated efficiency and quality of its parts (i.e. the skeletal system, the muscular system and the nervous system).
The level and consistency of our performance directly relates to the training and preparation investment our body has received. Much like using an analogy of a car, a car is only as reliable and efficient as its least functional part and if all the parts are working with full productivity you can drive with confidence.
Try and achieve consistent performance with an aging car that lacks MOT, regular servicing or proper investment into its components and you have a dwindling time scale till it breaks down, leaving you stuck at the side of the motorway when you are on a tight schedule.
