For my birthday, a very kind (and clearly very wise) friend gave me a voucher for the Body Project, not for a spa day or a fancy dinner, but for something far more valuable: help with my stubborn 2 year old shoulder injury that had been holding me back at CrossFit, Push-ups, snatches, toes-to-bar movement, basically anything shoulder-related had become a frustrating no go zone!
Enter: Kelly Marshall..
From our first session, Kelly knew exactly what was going on. She talked me through the issue in plain English, then immediately got to work first with a massage (I think…) and acupuncture, that walked a fine line between pain and pleasure… There’s no doubt she enjoyed delivering both in the name of ‘sorting the issue’. I trusted her straight away, she found all the hotspots in my shoulder, like she had a GPS for injuries!!
Kelly designed a full rehab programme for me, tailored to get me doing movements I couldn’t do without pain! A few weeks in, and today I managed a bit of toes-to-bar movement without any shoulder pain!! I was shocked 🤯 i almost cried.
Beyond the treatment, Kelly’s just a brilliant person, she’s knowledgeable, down to earth, and genuinely invested in helping people, I’m in awe of her passion for the human body! Kelly also, in her own time, created a Murph-friendly scale for my friend and me, because the classic version just isn’t worth the rekindling the shoulder pain.
That kind of care and commitment is RARE.
So no, I’m not doing one-handed push-ups or full toes-to-bar (yet), but I am moving better, and genuinely optimistic. If you’re dealing with an injury and need someone who knows their stuff — and isn’t afraid to throw in a bit of banter with the needles and deep tissue work, Kelly is your woman!
I’m looking forward to the future with two good shoulders and not, one good and one dodgy one!
